How long does it take the camera to power ON when controlled by the remote?
Where does it apply?
- HERO4 Session
- HERO+ LCD
- HD HERO2
It should take about 3-5 seconds for the camera to power on once the power button is pressed on the Wi-Fi Remote. If the camera does not power on, check for the following:
- If Wi-Fi is built in, be sure it is powered ON and set to the "REMOTE" or "RC & APP" mode.
- If using a HERO2 or HD HERO, make sure that the Wi-Fi BacPac and remote are paired, and that a connection is recognized. Make sure that the camera, Wi-Fi BacPac, and Remote batteries are fully charged. Remember that you need to charge the Wi-Fi BacPac by connecting it to a computer, USB charger, or auto charger directly. It can't be charged through the camera.
- If the camera takes 10 seconds or more to power on, please visit the Software Updates page to update the software on the camera (and/or Wi-Fi BacPac and remote).
