This past weekend, a few lucky GoPro employees had the opportunity to attend a special event hosted by San Francisco non-profit, Sprouts

Sprouts brings together Bay Area youth from all backgrounds to experience the joys of cooking and the value of real, good food. Professional chefs from some of the Bay Area’s best restaurants lead hands-on lessons, and this past weekend, Sprouts hosted a Valentine’s Day-themed truffle making class. The class was led by Food Network Baking Championship participant 10-year-old Payton Peleaz at Venga.

The Argentine-style empanada restaurant located in San Francisco’s Mission District donated their space to host about 20 Bay-area children for the truffle-making course. Inspired by Sprouts’ mission and eager to give back to his San Francisco peers, Payton guided the class through a chocolate making tutorial, followed by hands-on assisting to mix the chocolate, form truffles, decorate with sprinkles, cocoa and white chocolate. While the truffles set, kids made decorative boxes to take their treats home for their special Valentines.
