We have a new World Champ in the house! Alex Sorgente skated his way to legend status as the 2018 Vans Park Series World Champion this past weekend. The champ was crowned shortly after a posting a 90.37 winning run at the Vans Park Series Finals in Shanghai China.

There is no debating, 2018 is proving to be a killer year for the GoPro skate athlete. This is Alex’s second World Championship title (his first was in 2016), he nabbed back-to-back X Games golds ('17 and '18) and he won the first-ever Nitro World Games. Alex’s all-around style consistently lands him on podiums, and his mastery across pool, vert, big air and street makes him a force to be reckoned with.

And moreso now than ever, Alex has solidified his position as a top Olympic hopeful to compete in skateboarding’s debut at the Tokyo 2020 games.

Basically, nobody is having more fun skating than Alex these days. OK, maybe a few people are … but Alex is certainly being recognized for it!

Congratulations on the win and keep up the momentum going into Tokyo 2020, Sorge!
