Mammoth Motocross Turns 50
For five decades, Mammoth Mountain has hosted the very best racers from all over for an event like no other. Each year, young, old, fast and slow descend upon the hallowed track, cut into the tree-lined side of the mountain. Thin air, back-dragged track surface, and a wicked uphill start are just a few of the unique aspects of racing Mammoth Motocross that make it a one-of-a-kind experience.
Since the summer of 1968, racers have flocked to this hallowed ground, and some of which have gone on to write their names in the motocross history book. From Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart, to Bob Hannah and David Bailey, the best of the best have twisted the throttle on this track, and this week it's on again.
