A huge congratulations goes out to GoPro athlete Filipe Toledo, who took a commanding win at the Oi Rio Pro in his home country of Brazil. Huge airs early in the contest pointed the spotlight squarely on Toledo, but he proved that he is a complete package by dominating the final on the faces and in the barrel; no airs, just superior wave selection and brilliant surfing.

Filipe is now climbing up the overall points standings and is presenting himself as an early favorite for a championship. There is a ton of surfing left to do this season but the Brazilian is making a strong case with his unbelievable, progressive surfing.

Enjoy it, Filipe!

Here’s to more wins on the WSL tour!

High-fives also go out to GoPro athlete Lakey Peterson, as well, who charged throughout the Oi Rio Womens Pro to take second overall. She is now second overall in the standings, and has a win under her belt thanks to a dominant performance at the Roxy Pro on the Gold Coast of Australia, and her podium at the Oi Rio Pro.

Congrats Lakey!
