GoPro Snow Athletes Dominate X Games Aspen

Winter is here, and it feels so good. As the first proper storm rolled into Aspen, so did the 2021 Winter X Games. The competition lineup was stacked, viewers from around the world were pumped to tun into some live sports, and the GoPro Snow team showed up ready to dominate.
Jamie landed gold medals in both the Slopestyle and Big Air events, AND she was the only woman to complete in the Knuckle Huck event. While Slopestyle is Jamie’s sweet spot, this is her first time landing a Big Air gold. She is now tied with Shaun White for the second most Winter X Games medals at 19—the pair are chasing Canadian Mark McMorriss with 20.
Jamie is also coming off an epic start to the year at topping the podium at the the LAAX Open, which happens to a GoPro partner resort. With these two performances locked already in 2021, we can’t wait to see what she has in store for the inaugural Natural Selection Tour on Feb. 3-9 in Jackson Hole.
Nico showed up as the youngest competitor in the Men’s Ski Superpipe, and he walked away with top honors, earning an X Games Gold. The Kiwi kid made history with first-ever back-to-back 1620s. Insane.
Norweigan snowboard king Markus laid down a series of mind-melting quadruple corks both front and backside in the Men’s Snowboard Big Air comp that had everyone frothing for more. He totaled an impressive 96/100 in his combined frontside/backside scores to take home the X Games Gold.
Sven brought the Men’s Snowboard Big Air to a nail-biting close call after laying down some equally impressive front and backside flatspin 1800s. Ultimately, he came in second to Markus, bringing home the X Games Silver with a combined 95/100 in the event.
Plus, a massive honorable shoutout to the newest GoPro Snow rider, Takeru Otsuka, who laid down a NBD frontside quadruple cork 1800. Our heads are still spinning!
We also want to send good vibes to our girl Hailey Langland who took a comp-ending slam right before the Slopestyle Finals.
And to longtime GoPro family member Tom Wallisch—we see you rocking the mic behind the scenes. The ski event play-by-play has never been so good!
Huge congratulations to all the hardworking athletes of GoPro Snow. We love watching you crush it out there!
