Mobile Upload available with GoPro PLUS subscription.
With Mobile Upload, the GoPro app automatically backs up media items in your QuikStories to the cloud.
As a GoPro PLUS subscriber, Mobile Upload is enabled by default, and recent content uploads whenever your mobile device is in Wi-Fi range. You can also enable mobile upload on cellular connections, so that your content uploads to the cloud right after it gets copied from your GoPro* to your mobile device as a QuikStory. You can manage Wi-Fi and cellular options for Mobile Upload in your GoPro app settings (Settings > GoPro PLUS > Mobile Upload).
Mobile Upload runs automatically in the background, and the process will pause and resume as your connection availability varies, until all files are safely uploaded. After QuikStory content is copied to your device, you’ll see a notification letting you know that the items in the QuikStory will be uploaded to the cloud when you’re connected to the internet. When you’re in range, the thumbnails on the Recent tab will start displaying icons, showing the status of your upload.
CLOCK - Item is queued for upload
CLOUD+UP - Item uploading
CLOUD+CHECK - Upload completed
EXCLAMATION - There was an error uploading
Successful uploads will briefly display a checkmark. If an item fails to upload, it will be marked with an error icon, and we’ll try the upload again when your device is in range. You can cancel an upload by deleting the item on the Recent tab before it uploads, or by turning Mobile Upload off in your GoPro app settings.
Note: To begin a mobile upload, your device needs at least 120 percent of the total file size of your upload available in storage. For example, if a QuikStory contains 1GB of data, your device needs 1.2GB available storage to start uploading.
* QuikStories available on HERO5 and newer cameras. Not supported on Fusion.
