Managing Storage with QuikStories

What are you trying to do?

Manage content on your mobile device for QuikStories

Where does it apply?

  • GoPro App
  • Quik for mobile
  • iOS Devices
  • Android Devices

How to do it

The GoPro app temporarily copies up to 5GB of photos and videos from your GoPro to your mobile device (originals remain on your GoPro). There are several ways to manage storage space on your phone or tablet to get the most from this feature.

Delete Recent Media

The individual photos and videos used in your QuikStories are temporarily stored in Recent Media. While these files automatically expire 7 days after they are copied to your mobile device, you can manually delete them to make space for new footage.
  1. Open the GoPro app.
  2. Tap the Media icon (iOS), or select Media (Android) from the navigation menu.
  3. You will be taken to your Recent Media, where you’ll find the individual photos and videos used in your QuikStories.
  4. Tap on any thumbnail to view it, then tap the Delete icon to delete it.
  5. To delete multiple files at once, tap the Select icon. Tap the thumbnails you want to delete, then tap the Delete icon.

Delete Local Media
  1. Open the GoPro app.
  2. Tap the Media icon (iOS), or select Media (Android) from the navigation menu.
  3. Tap the Local tab to view the GoPro content stored on your mobile device.
  4. Tap on any thumbnail to view it, then tap the Delete icon to delete it.
  5. To delete multiple files at once, tap the Select icon. Tap the thumbnails you want to delete, then tap the Delete icon.
