Words by GoPro CEO, Nicholas Woodman

GoPro has always served as a platform to promote positivity and celebrate our beautiful world — and we’re now excited to leverage it to promote diversity and equity as well.

We recognize we can be a more inclusive, representative, equitable and just organization — and we can amplify these values externally through our brand and marketing.

We are committed to doing the work and are excited to become a signatory for the Outdoor CEO Diversity Pledge

We recognize our opportunity to lead by example — inspiring and empowering our employees, partners and fans to find their own ways to make the world a more inclusive and equal place.

As CEO, I pledge:

  • To encourage daily mindfulness, fostering awareness and participation in actions that promote diversity, inclusion and belonging.
  • To leverage our brand and marketing to celebrate diversity and promote equity and inclusivity.
  • To hire diversely — knowing that contributions from different perspectives will make us stronger and more capable of serving a diverse customer-base.
  • To sponsor and support a diverse range of ambassadors that reflect our values while engaging a broad audience. With our global brand and visually impactful marketing, GoPro has a clear opportunity to help people feel included and represented.

Our goal is to inspire and empower people to pursue their dreams — helping them realize they can be whoever they want to be. It’s important that people see themselves represented in the activities and lifestyles they may one day dream of pursuing.

Alongside others who have committed to this work, we will lead in breaking false narratives about who the outdoors are for and what opportunities exist for all. And we ask everyone in the GoPro Community to take ownership in their own way to create a more equal, inclusive and beautifully diverse world that benefits us all.
