Building off a previously announced partnership with Honor, a leading smartphone e-brand under the Huawei Group, GoPro’s Quik mobile video editing app will be preloaded on the new Honor 8 Pro smartphone.

The Honor 8 Pro is engineered for stunning multimedia experiences, making the Quik App the perfect companion and primary video editing solution on Huawei's latest devices. The Honor 8 Pro's 5.7-inch Quad HD display and cinematic-standard color and resolution capabilities will transform Quik video content into your personal mobile movie theater.

“We are thrilled to be furthering our partnership with Honor, an international leader in the smartphone industry,” says GoPro’s Chief Operating Officer, CJ Prober. “The partnership provides an excellent opportunity to introduce GoPro to new users around the world.”

The photo gallery of the Honor 8 Pro uses a new feature called “Highlights”, which automatically selects photos and videos for the user.  With a tap of the button, Quik generates a video synchronized to the beat of the selected music.  From there, the user can share the video or further customize it with additional filters, transitions, effects and more.

“At Honor, we are committed to enriching digital lifestyles through enhanced smartphone experiences. The partnership between Honor and GoPro provides an intelligent and efficient video and photo editing functionality to fully unleash our users’ creativity,” said Gang Zhao, Head of Honor Overseas Business.

GoPro enables the capture of unique, immersive and hands-free perspectives that are otherwise difficult to get with a smartphone or would put the phone and its user at risk.  Users can easily transfer photos and videos from the GoPro camera to the Honor 8 Pro photo gallery for inclusion in video edits made with the Quik app.

“GoPro and Honor are the perfect combination for young, active on-the-go adventurers looking to create engaging content from anywhere,” remarked Prober.
