World of GoPro

GoPro is teaming up with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to bring a group of creators to Thailand to experience one of the world's largest water festivals, Songkran. Songkran will take place April 13 to 15 and offer a diverse experience of fun and festivities to all those who participate in Chiang Mai.
This experience will take place as part of TAT’s "Visit Thailand Year 2023: Amazing New Chapters” campaign and build upon the achievements from 2022 efforts. Through the campaign, TAT is placing an emphasis on promoting a series of Thailand’s foundations – food, film, festival, fight and fashion – to offer meaningful travel experiences in the country.
As part of this, TAT is looking to recreate a collaboration with GoPro. In 2019, TAT and GoPro brought creators from across the globe to experience Songkran at Khao Sarn Road, Bangkok’s most globally famous road, while showcasing the authentic traditional Songkran experiences at Ayutthaya - UNESCO World Heritage Centre. GoPro sought to inspire creators from all over the world to capture and share incredible POV content. This year, a new group of creators will experience Songkran with HERO11 Black to showcase the event and the camera capabilities to a global audience.
“We are excited to have GoPro creators returning to Thailand to experience and celebrate the Songkran Festival in Chiang Mai with authentic local Lanna Style,” said Rick Loughery, Vice President of Global Marketing and Communications at GoPro. “We can’t wait to see how the creators use HERO11 Black to capture and share their Thai adventures in a way only a GoPro can!We believe that this partnership will inspire others around the world to rediscover how ‘Amazing Thailand’ is.”
“The 2023 strategy is to continue the milestone achievement of 2022. We will continue communicating and strengthening its global campaign's long-standing ‘Amazing Thailand’ branding. This will be highlighted by the ‘Visit Thailand Year 2023: Amazing New Chapters’ campaign to represent a commitment from TAT and all stakeholders in the public and private sectors to promote Thai soft-power cultural values and inspire travellers from around the world to visit Thailand as a preferred tourist destination, and further reaffirm the kingdom’s well-established status as one of the world’s most popular holiday spots,” said Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor for Tourism Authority of Thailand.
The partnership campaign of TAT x GoPro Songkran Festival will be globally recognized as the “Thai New Year Celebration in April” through the content of six-day/five-night splash-with-spree festivities created by 13 GoPro creators from across the world, including Asia Pacific, Brazil, Spain, South Korea, India, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan.
The creators’ storytelling will share first-person POV of participating in the event as well as drive traffic to the campaign, inspire social conversation and brand awareness.
