Celebrating World Photo Day with SuperPhoto

Today is World Photo Day, so we at GoPro thought what better way to celebrate than with a little tribute to one of our favorite photo modes—SuperPhoto.
SuperPhoto was introduced to GoPro in 2018 on HERO7 Black, and it continues to be one of our favorite GoPro capture modes—because YES, GoPros do more than just take awesome videos. These pocketable cameras take incredible still photos, too!
SuperPhoto takes the guesswork out of selecting the perfect photo settings and delivers a color-rich GoPro still photo every time. SuperPhoto offers two different options: HDR and AUTO. HDR captures the industry standard for a high-dynamic range photo by balancing the over- and under-exposed areas of a photo. Whereas AUTO analyzes a wide range of scene statistics—such as dynamic range, available light and scene motion—then automatically selects one of four methods for processing the image:
- High-Dynamic Range
- Local Tone Mapping
- Multi-Frame Noise Reduction
- Standard (or none)
Here are some of our favorite recent Photos of the Day that celebrate the power of GoPro + SuperPhoto.
