On March 2, 2022, GoPro employees from around the world gathered virtually to celebrate, learn and understand how we are all connected to the concepts of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion + Belonging (DEIB).

DEIB Day first came to life from grassroots events in two of our European offices, and it was quickly adopted as a global event to encourage daily mindfulness, awareness and participation in actions that promote diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.

Our first ever global event, hosted on Feb. 24, 2021, consisted of a variety of activities, including the launch of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). We are thrilled to share this year’s events were led by the very groups that have formed since the inauguration of ERGs at GoPro. Employees were encouraged to join any, or all, of the sessions available over the day:

  • Meet Your Engineering Sheroes, hosted by SHero |A panel conversation with five female engineers that help make GoPro products possible.
  • Asking for Help, hosted by Mental Health and Well-being | A partial screening of the Netflix kayaking film The River Runner and a candid conversation on mental health with the filmmaker and athletes.
  • Living @ Work with my Family, hosted by Parenting and Families | A collection and sharing of stories of what home has grown to look and feel like during this global pandemic.
  • New Motherhood: Q&A with Rachel Atherton, hosted by EMEA DEIB Force | A conversation with GoPro athlete, Rachel Atherton, on the obstacles around transitioning into motherhood while maintaining her career.

We’re on an ongoing journey to ensure we’re starting this work within. We are committed to becoming a more inclusive, equitable and diverse company and brand – representing the global communities where our employees and customers live, work, and play.
