What kind of GoPro content can I submit?
Any photo, raw clip, or video edit you captured with GoPro is a valid entry for GoPro Awards. What it means to live a big life is different for everyone, and every perspective is unique. Whether you’re at home with family, jumping off cliffs, showing off or simply catching the unexpected, we want to see your creativity shine.
100% GoPro Photos
Submit the native raw unedited .jpg file shot on your GoPro camera. The file size must be greater than 1MB.
100% GoPro Raw Clips
Submit the native raw .mp4 file shot on your GoPro camera. Submissions must be shot in HD or higher resolution (720p, 1080p, 1440p, 2.7K, 4K). The higher the resolution, the better. Videos with poor visual quality will not be considered. To earn a GoPro Award in the Raw Clip category, the submission must not be edited in any way.
100% GoPro Video Edits
The best video edits allow viewers to connect with the story through the  establishment and development of one central character or a few central characters. Other key components include establishment of the story’s location, moments of tension or apex, and a fun, humorous or breathtaking conclusion. Check out the GoPro Channel to get a good feel for GoPro’s storytelling style. Every clip within a video submission must be 100% shot on GoPro.
Should I be concerned about the right + clearances for people, places or music featured in my photos or videos?

Yes! These are all very important. We want to respect our friends, neighbors and fellow artists, so you’ll need to obtain additional documentation for any recognizable people seen in your photos or videos. GoPro cannot use anyone’s image without their permission.

Unfortunately, video edits submitted with unlicensed music cannot be considered for a GoPro Award. We love good music as much as the rest of you, but there are legal restrictions around GoPro celebrating your content unless the music has been licensed or is royalty-free. If you’re not sure where to access music that’s available to use, simply submit your raw GoPro clips. That’s a great place to start.

How do I make sure my content stands out?

Good question! Image quality and story quality help your video and photo submission stand out. Always submit the highest quality and best resolution for any photo or video. Photos should be a minimum of 1MB. Raw clips and video edits should be captured and submitted in the highest quality possible, without the addition of watermarks. Lastly, the more info we have, the better! Complete the fields in the content submission form to the best of your ability.

When I submit content, what GoPro Awards am I eligible for?

GoPro Awards is your gateway to a world of opportunities. Great content across the board will be celebrated on GoPro’s social channels or as a Photo or Video of the Day.

Your photo or video submission may also be considered for cash awards up to $1,000, 30% off at gopro.com or other opportunities to get featured by GoPro!

Is there a limit to how many times I can submit to GoPro Awards?
GoPro Awards is always on, and there’s no limit to how many entries you can submit. Submit all of your best, brightest and most captivating content, but keep in mind—multiple submissions of the same asset per category will not increase your chances for an award.
How does GoPro Awards communicate with me?
GoPro will use the email associated with your GoPro account for all communications. It’s important that your contact info is current and accurate in order to ensure proper delivery of GoPro notifications.
How do I know my content has been submitted?

A visual confirmation will appear on the upload page once your submission is complete. A confirmation email will only be sent for the first submission each day. Multiple uploads will not result in multiple emails. All notifications will be sent to the email address associated with your GoPro account.

Please know the ability to upload content to your media manager is separate from GoPro Awards submissions. Although you may not see the content in your media manager you are still able to submit.  Your awards will be identified by the title you have chosen at the time of submission.  Please use a unique title with each submission in order to know what has been selected for an award when notified.

How do I know my content has been reviewed or selected?
GoPro experts review every valid content submission for GoPro Awards. If your content is selected for a GoPro Award or acquired for future use, you’ll receive an email notification with additional details.
When will I be notified + when can I expect to see my content featured by GoPro?
GoPro will be reviewing and awarding content daily. Notifications will be sent to recipients as they are granted. If you don’t receive a notification immediately, don’t worry—your content may still be in consideration. There is a slim chance you could see your content featured prior to receiving an email notification.
How does GoPro Decide what Content will receive an award?
GoPro examines submissions and evaluates the image and story quality of submissions to determine which ones deserve a GoPro Award. Always submit the highest quality and best resolution for any photo or video. Photos should be a minimum of 1MB. Raw clips and video edits should be captured and submitted in the highest quality possible, without the addition of watermarks, filters or other color treatments. Lastly, the more info we have, the better! Complete the fields in the content submission form to the best of your ability.
Can I receive multiple Awards?
Absolutely. There’s no limit to the number of awards you can receive or the frequency with which they can be awarded. GoPro will be consistently rewarding our favorite content submissions, so keep them coming!.
When does the GoPro Awards program end?
It doesn’t. GoPro Awards is a year-round program. Expiration of our Featured Challenges will vary per challenge, but these will be clearly listed on the GoPro Awards homepage.
Is there anything that I should not submit?

Great question. In fact, there are seven specific examples of kinds of content that shouldn’t be submitted to GoPro Awards. Please don’t submit any content that:

  1. Infringes, misappropriates or violates a third party’s patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, moral rights or other intellectual property rights, rights of publicity or privacy.
  2. Violates or encourages any conduct that would violate any applicable law or regulation or would give rise to civil liability.
  3. Is fraudulent, false, misleading or deceptive.
  4. Is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, vulgar or offensive.
  5. Promotes discrimination, bigotry, racism, hatred, harassment or harm against any individual or group.
  6. Is violent or threatening or promotes violence or actions that are threatening to any other person.
  7. Promotes illegal or harmful activities or substances.
Can GoPro use my content even if I don't receive an Award?

Yes. That’s the short answer. Simply by submitting your content, you’ve given GoPro a non-exclusive license to use your content.

Non-exclusive means that you are still able to share your content on your own social channels and YouTube, you are simply sharing the rights with GoPro for the opportunity to get paid and receive even greater exposure through GoPro’s global reach.  For more information, check out the program Terms + Conditions

How or where might GoPro use my submission?
There are a number of ways in which GoPro might decide to celebrate your content, including but not limited to channels like YouTube™, Roku® and Virgin America. Additional uses may include GoPro promotional materials and official GoPro social channels such as Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Content licensing opportunities are also available.
Will those cash awards be taxed?

Yes, all payments distributed by GoPro are exclusive of taxes, duties, levies, tariffs and other governmental charges. Award Recipients will be responsible for paying any  applicable taxes, interest and penalties due. International Award Recipients may be subject to withholding taxes, which will be deducted from their payments.

If I am selected a GoPro Award, how will I get paid?
If you’re selected for a GoPro Award, you’ll be notified by email with directions on how to receive your compensation. GoPro will make six attempts over a 90-day period to request your payment details in order to fulfill payment for your Award.
