How Can You Confirm that a Software Update Completed Successfully?

Power on the camera and look at the version number that is displayed on the screen as it turns on. If the version number is current, then the update completed successfully. See this article to confirm what the latest version is: Software Update Release Information.

This issue should be resolved with the latest version of the GoPro App, so make sure that you have updated. In order to properly use the latest version of the GoPro App, you will also need to... Recommended USB Ports

When you connect your camera or BacPac to your desktop computer, we recommend that you use a USB port on the back of the computer.  USB ports on the back of a computer are more reliable than USB ports on the front.  Also, we recommend against connecting to USB ports on keyboards, monitors, and USB hubs.
