Continuous Photo Mode Does Not Work when Using the Wi-Fi Remote

HERO3/3+ The Continuous Photo mode is not supported by the Wi-Fi remote. When you press and hold the shutter button on the remote, it does not record any photos. You can press and immediately release the shutter button, but it will take one photo. If you want to use Continuous Photo mode you must use the shutter button on the camera. Delay Between Camera and Remote at Power-on

It should take about 3-5 seconds for the camera to power on once the power button is pressed on the Wi-Fi Remote. If the camera does not power on, check for the following: Make sure that the WiFi BacPac and remote are paired, and that a connection is recognized. Make sure that the camera, Wi-Fi BacPac, and Remote batteries are fully charged. Lux Rating Information

The Lux ratings for the HERO3 and HERO3+ cameras are not something that we have available. We feel that the Lux rating does not provide an accurate picture of the light sensitivity capabilities of the camera, since this is only a rating for the camera sensor, and does not take into account the actual processing of the image by the camera. What are .cpgz Files?

You may see a .cpgz file if you double-click on one of the software update .bin files on a Mac. When you double-click on the .bin file the computer tries to automatically copy the file resulting in this .cpgz file. You do not need this file. Please delete it and make sure that the trashcan is emptied before proceeding with the software update. What to do if the Camera or Wi-Fi Update Fails

If the camera or Wi-Fi software update fails, you can try the following steps to fix the problem: Power off the camera. Reformat the SD card in the camera or in the computer. Redo the software update manually through the software updater. Try a different SD card if possible. Follow the links below for instructions on how to manually update the camera software. HERO3: Black Edition Powers off Due to Low Battery Even While Connected to a Charger

In some cases the HERO3: Black Edition powers off during recording due to low battery even while it's charging. This can happen if you're using a power intensive setting on the camera, such as 1440-48 or 1080-60, and you're using Wi-Fi and the LCD Touch BacPac. The camera may also shut down during recording in 1080-60 looping, if left overnight while connected to a charger. This has been significantly improved with the latest software update so make sure you update to the latest version

HERO3 Camera Stuck in Update Mode

Static Sound is Heard on Recorded Video Files

For HERO3 camera users, make sure that you have updated to the latest camera software version. The latest update reduces interference from constant noises. There are times when certain external electrical interference or audio frequencies will interfere with the audio recording of the camera, and cause a background static. Recorded Video Clips Appear Mirrored

In some rare cases you may notice that videos recorded with your HERO3 camera may appear as a mirror image of how they should appear. These images may be flipped horizontally along the vertical axis. This happens significantly less often with the latest update, so make sure you have updated to the latest software version. If the issue persists you can use GoPro Studio to fix it. What are the Advantages of Using Wi-Fi Over Bluetooth?

The HERO4 uses both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for wireless control of the camera. Bluetooth is used to quickly recognize the camera upon launching the GoPro App. Once successfully paired to the camera, the HERO4 will result to a Wi-Fi connection as it has several advantages over Bluetooth and Bluetooth LE* including higher bandwidth, better range, lower latency, higher bit-rate, and better security.
