HERO3 Camera

The default Wi-Fi password for your HERO3 camera is "goprohero".  You can change your camera Wi-Fi name and Wi-Fi password when you update your camera's software here.  If your camera's softwarew is already up-to-date, but you wish to change the camera's name and password, you'll need to re-update your software.  To re-update your camera's software, you'll need to disable Java in your web browser.  Here's a link that shows you how to disable Java in some popular web browsers.  Then, go here to re-update your camera's software.

Password Requirement

Your password must be at least 8 characters.  It can contain the following characters: Lower and upper-case letters, numbers 0-9, at symbol "@", dash "-", and underscore "_".  

 

HD HERO Original Camera and HD HERO2 Camera

The default password for your Wi-Fi BacPac is "goprohero".  You can change your Wi-Fi BacPac's name and password in CineForm Studio at any time.  Open CineForm Studio and connect the Wi-Fi BacPac to your computer.  You'll see the Wi-Fi BacPac listed in the Device Window.  Click CONFIGURE to change your name and password.
