The remote function of the Wi-Fi BacPac will be compatible with the HD HERO Original camera. This allows the user to remotely power the camera on/off, and start/stop recording. 

The smartphone application will not be able to sync to the HD HERO Original camera, so live preview and mobile device functionality is not possible with this camera model. If this is a feature you would like to have, you'll want to consider upgrading to the HD HERO2 Professional camera.
