You have five different video resolution options with the original HD HERO camera:

  • 1080p = 1920x1080 pixels (16:9) 
  • 960p = 1280x960 pixels (4:3) 
  • 720p = 1280x720 pixels (16:9)  @ 60FPS
  • 720p = 1280x720 pixels (16:9)
  • WVGA = 848x480 pixels (16:9)
The camera records in MPEG4 (.mp4) files using h.264 compression. 
 
Note:  The HD HERO 960 does NOT have the option to record in 1080p or the higher frame rate of 720p @ 60fps.
