This article describes processes to share video to Instagram or other social sharing sites.

If you want to share a file from the GoPro App

Once photos or videos have been copied to the device’s native photo album the user can share the photos or videos through email, text, and social media sites instantly. Steps to access the files and how to share are below:

iOS 

  1. Go to the device’s photo album
  2. Select GoPro Album
  3. Select Thumbnail
  4. Select the share icon
  5. Select from the options available

  

Android

  1. Go to 'My GoPro Album' in the GoPro App
  2. Select the file you want to share
  3. Select the Share button and select the desired sharing service
 

 

Windows Phone

  1. Select the device's Photos App
  2. Select the file you want to share
  3. Select the Settings button
  4. Select the "Share..." icon
  5. Select from the options available 

 

Uploading to Instagram

If you are using an Android device, unfortunately the Android version of Instagram is temporarily not working properly with our videos. The issue should be resolved shortly.

If you are using iOS, to get video from the GoPro App to Instagram using an iPhone, you can follow these steps: 

  1. Launch the GoPro App after you recorded you video.
  2. Select Connect and Control.
  3. Download either the High Resolution or Low Resolution of the video to your smartphone or tablet's camera roll.
  4. Download an app that can access your camera roll trim the length of your video while keeping the wide angle perspective. An example of a free App that can do this is "Squaready for Video."
  5. Now go ahead and trim the clip to the desired length. For example, Instagram requires video clips to be 3-15 seconds long.
  6. Upload your video.

 

If you want to share a file exported from GoPro Studio

First, you will need to edit down your video in GoPro Studio so that it is the desired length. For example, Instagram requires video clips to be 3-15 seconds long. Once you have edited your video, follow these steps:

  1. In Studio, go to Step: Export.
  2. In the Preset setting, select "Mobile." This export settings uses settings which are preferred by most sharing services.
  3. Choose where you want to save your file and press Export.
  4. Email the new message to yourself. Open your email service. Create a new email message, attach the exported video as a attachment, and then send the email.
  5. If the file is too large or you prefer to use another service to send the file there may be other apps that can transfer the file from your computer to your mobile device, such as Dropbox.
  6. On your mobile device, open your mail app and open the message you sent.
  7. Download the video file to your camera roll.
  8. Open the sharing app you are using (Instagram, Vine, etc.).
  9. Upload the file to your feed.
