Nat Young Wins ASP GoPro Challenge at Tahiti

Sure, the competitive action in the heats of the Billabong Pro are engaging enough, but the GoPro content coming from the ASP GoPro Challenge is nothing short of epic. The ASP GoPro Challenge asks competing surfers to submit their videos from the contest venue starting two days prior to the contest window, and no later than the conclusion of the competition. Tahiti's Challenge is the third in the series, following face-offs at Margaret River and FijiJudging criteria and previous winners are listed here.

In Tahiti, it was Nat Young and a Teahupo'o tube that won over the judges. Now, Young is $10 grand richer, in addition to the bragging rights. Check out his submission above, and keep it locked on the ASP Tour for the best surfing in the world.

Mark Burnett, five-time Emmy award winner and avid GoPro customer, said in a previous statement, "We have used GoPro cameras in some of our biggest productions, like Survivor and The Bible. GoPro has allowed us to capture and share fascinating new perspectives that previously weren’t possible or were too costly, which in the end makes for better story telling. We are always excited to see what GoPro is working on next."

"In a world of smartphones and increasingly small cameras, GoPro is still the film fans device of choice and the rugged gadget that will launch the careers of many future directors. If in doubt, check out the home made rocket that took a GoPro to space or the shark footage, both on YouTube." - T3 Award for the GoPro HERO3
