Jane's Addiction, Been Caught Stealing, Live GoPro Video

Jane's Addiction celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the release of their album Nothing's Shocking in 2013, and spent this summer sharing the stage with Alice In Chains on the Rockstar Uproar Festival. At the tour stop in George, WA at the Gorge Amphitheatre, GoPro created an unprecedented moment by capturing live footage from Jane's Addiction's performance entirely with GoPro cameras. The film making was done mainly by the band themselves, with cameras being attached to drummer Stephen Perkins kit and chest, on the neck of Dave Navarro's guitar, on Chris Chaney's bass, on Perry Farrell's monitors, and around the stage in places larger cameras could not have gone. Always innovators themselves, Jane's Addiction was able to capture new perspectives and angles rarely seen before.

Testimonials

Mark Burnett, five-time Emmy award winner and avid GoPro customer, said in a previous statement, "We have used GoPro cameras in some of our biggest productions, like Survivor and The Bible. GoPro has allowed us to capture and share fascinating new perspectives that previously weren’t possible or were too costly, which in the end makes for better story telling. We are always excited to see what GoPro is working on next."

"In a world of smartphones and increasingly small cameras, GoPro is still the film fans device of choice and the rugged gadget that will launch the careers of many future directors. If in doubt, check out the home made rocket that took a GoPro to space or the shark footage, both on YouTube." - T3 Award for the GoPro HERO3
