GoPro® Welcomes Chad Kerley to the Team

SAN MATEO, CA (June 20, 2013)- GoPro, maker of the world’s most versatile camera and producer of today’s most engaging content, is proud to welcome Chad Kerley to the team.

Former BMX racing world champion, Kerley, left racing to ride freestyle/street and hasn’t looked back. Between competing at X Games and Dew Tour events, the 2012 Vital BMX Rider of the Year and NORA Cup People’s Choice Rider of the Year, is traveling the world with his sponsors Premium Bikes, Vitamin Water and Nike, turning heads with his unbelievable skills.

“I’m stoked to be part of a team that picks the best athletes in the world to represent the number one camera in the world,” said Chad Kerley. “GoPro makes shooting POV really accessible and the wide angle is definitely one of my favorite shooting styles when filming other riders.”

Many in the industry consider Chad to be the best young BMX prospect out there, coming off a Best Trick win at the 2012 Simple Session contest and a team win at Nike’s The Pool contest in the UK. Kerley’s maturity, focus and determination are enabling him to become one of the best BMX athletes alive.

Welcome to the team Chad and congrats on dropping your first Pro Frame for Premium. Kerley joins other GoPro BMX athletes including, Chad Kagy, Steve McCann, Drew Bezanson and Mike Escamilla.

Mark Burnett, five-time Emmy award winner and avid GoPro customer, said in a previous statement, "We have used GoPro cameras in some of our biggest productions, like Survivor and The Bible. GoPro has allowed us to capture and share fascinating new perspectives that previously weren’t possible or were too costly, which in the end makes for better story telling. We are always excited to see what GoPro is working on next."

"In a world of smartphones and increasingly small cameras, GoPro is still the film fans device of choice and the rugged gadget that will launch the careers of many future directors.
