GoPro to Provide Course Previews for National TV Broadcasts on NBC

HALF MOON BAY, CA (December 14, 2011) - GoPro, the world’s most versatile camera, is proud to be the official sports camera of the Winter Dew Tour 2011-12. This is the premier winter sports tour showcasing the world’s top snowboarders and freeskiers, competing in both slopestyle and superpipe. The first event of the tour kicks off in Breckenridge, CO from December 15-18.

GoPro will produce course previews, using HD HERO2 cameras, to show television viewers what it is like to rip down the superpipe and soar through the slopestyle course from a rider’s perspective. The GoPro course previews will be integrated into the national television broadcasts on NBC. GoPro will also release exclusive videos from the Dew Tour stops on GoPro.com.

GoPro snowboard athletes Eric Willett, Tim Humphreys and Jamie Anderson, along with freeskier athletes Tom Wallisch and Tucker Perkins, will once again be blasting big airs to land themselves a spot on the Dew Tour podium.

“The GoPro camera lets me capture unique angles and shots that make my videos stand out and get noticed,” says GoPro athlete and US Freeskiing team member, Tucker Perkins. “And this has helped me score with my sponsors. GoPro’s been a valuable self-promoting tool that has largely contributed to my professional career. I enjoy sharing my experiences with friends and fans by providing a glimpse of what I love to do, the way I see it.”

Entering its fourth season, the Winter Dew Tour continues to host the greatest mix of the world’s top freestyle athletes at premier snow resort destinations. The Dew Tour consists of three major stops across North America. Each Winter Dew Tour event includes snowboard superpipe and slopestyle as well as freeskiing superpipe and slopestyle. Athletes will be competing for event titles at each stop as well as the Dew Cup, the overall victory presented to the points champion at tour’s end. Athletes push their sports’ progression for an overall purse of 2.5 million dollars over the course of the tour.
